Great Laundry Detergent Recipe

Commercial laundry detergent has chemicals that are linked to cancer such as phthalates but it also can have endocrine disruptors! Instead of exposing my family to these things, I started making my own from simple ingredients! My husband is an electrician, so his clothes are tough to get clean, I needed a detergent that was effective. After trying many recipes online this one worked the best for me:

Homemade Laundry Detergent:

1/2 cup Epsom Salt

1 1/2 cups Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda)

1 1/2 cups Sodium Carbonate (washing soda)

1/4 cup sea salt

20-25 drops Essential Oils optional

**Use 1-2 Tablespoons per load**

I personally love citrus scented detergent and lemon essential oil adds extra antibacterial and antimicrobial properties! I'll link my favorite essential oils to use in laundry detergent!
